Titanium Knights

Team 15887 and 15891

The Titanium Knights is a robotics club located at the Bergen County Academies, a public magnet high school located in Hackensack, New Jersey. Our team is made of dedicated students with different levels of experience from four grade levels. For the 2024-25 season, we have two teams: All-Knighters 15887 and Knightmares 15891.

First Tech Challenge

FIRST Tech Challenge students learn to think like engineers. Teams design, build, and code robots to compete in an alliance format against other teams. Robots are built from a reusable platform, powered by Android technology, and can be coded using a variety of levels of Java-based programming.

INTO THE DEEP

This year, the Titanium Knights Robotics teams are competing in the 2024-2025 FTC Season, INTO THE DEEP. The game consists of an autonomous and driver-controlled period. Builders and programmers need to design and develop a robot to score game objects called samples by placing them in high baskets and hanging them on rungs.

15887 & 15891

Titanium Knights is composed of two sister teams: 15887 - All-Knighters and 15891 - Knightmares. Our rookie season was the 2018-2019 FTC season. Over the last several years, both teams have been recognized for their accomplishments numerous times, both for robot design and our work in the community, and both teams have consistenly advanced to the statewide level.

Who We Are

The Titanium Knights are a student-run organization from Bergen County Academies. We have been competing in the First Tech Challenge (FTC) for more than four years. Consisting of more than two dozen students, we design, build, and code our robot in makerspaces and workshops to compete throughout the state.

For the past few years, we have been very successful, with both teams advancing to the state-level competition and winning multiple awards along the way. Apart from the technical design of our robot, the Titanium Knights aim to spread passion for STEM throughout our communities, which includes all of Bergen County.

Our Impact

From the beginning of our organization, we have strived to share our passion for STEM, robotics, and programming to non-technical communities. To achieve this, we organize outreach events at shopping malls, science museums, and schools, as well as libraries and local education centers, free of cost to any participants. Recent sites of our events include the American Dream mall in Rutherford, New Jersey, and Liberty Science Center in Jersey City. We keep all of our programming materials open to the public, so that everyone could learn more about engineering and programming.

We also mentor FLL (the elementary school version of FTC) teams, and partner with other FTC teams in our area. One of the most fulfilling parts of this outreach was having members join our team who had actually discovered robotics at one of our outreach events while they were middle school

Our Sponsors

Our gracious sponsors provide the Titanium Knights with expertise and funding we need to purchase parts, register in competitions, pay for team expenses, and more. Without them, we would not be able to afford our participation in FTC, and we are thus infinitely grateful that we have been chosen for sponsorship by these organizations.
